On January 15, 1950, the game between AC Florence and Juventus was scheduled. One of the most famous photos of a football player was taken during this match. In the 80th minute, Carlo Parola made a bicycle kick (Rovesciata). This had never been seen before and so this stylistic acrobatics went down in football history. At the right time, photographer Carrado Bianchi took the photo of the "flying player" and sold it to the newspaper. This photo caught the attention of the Panini brothers a few years later. They were fascinated by the power and harmony, and acquired the image rights. The photo served as a template for designer Walter Vaccari for the unmistakable Panini football logo. It was first released on the Italian Calciatori album in 1965. The 'flying player' graces many Panini sticker albums to this day.
