In this iconic retro shirt, the Orange squad made it to and against West Germany in the final. The final of the 1974 FIFA World Cup was played on July 7 between the Netherlands and West Germany. And was played in the Olympiastadion in Munich. The Netherlands kicked off and without having touched the ball, West Germany was already behind after a minute of play. The Netherlands got a penalty kick and it was taken by Johan Neeskens. Neeskens shot the ball hard through the middle. The Mannschaft had often fallen behind in important matches and could handle this well. After 25 minutes, West Germany also got a penalty and it was used by Paul Breitner. The West Germans persevered, increased the pace and created several opportunities. In the 43rd minute the ball ended up with Gerd Müller (der Bomber) who took the ball with his back to the goal.
