CCCP retro football shirt 1988 from TOFFS. The CCCP retro football shirt is based on the CCCP away shirt which was worn during the 1988 European Championship. The retro football shirt is predominantly white and features the initials CCCP in red in the middle of the chest. The emblem of the Soviet Union is applied to the left chest. A red stripe has been applied across the shoulders and the v-neck is also red and white. Material: 100% polyester.
During the 1988 European Championship, the Soviet Union started with a 0-1 victory over the Netherlands. The goal was scored by Vasili Rats. The second match against Ireland ended 1-1 and the last group match against England was surprisingly won 1-3. This victory made the Soviet Union the group winner. In the semi-finals the Soviet Union had to face Italy. They also won against the Italians (2-0) and the goals were scored in the second half by Litovchenko and Protasov. In the final of the 1988 European Championship, the Netherlands was once again the opponent. Unlike the first match of the tournament, this time the Netherlands was too strong for the Soviet Union and the Netherlands managed to win 2-0.
